YOU ARE BUYING A FULLY RE-CON 2.5 TDI 131 BHP 5 CYLINDER ENGINE THAT IS SUITABLE FOR THE VOLKSWAGEN TRANSPORTER MODELS FROM 2007-ONWARDS WITH VW ENGINE CODES OF BNZ.
THE ENGINE IS COMPLETE WITH A FULL 12 MONTHS GUARANTEE AND IT IS FITTED WITH THE UP-RATED OIL PUMP IN THE SUMP WITH THE BALANCE SHAFT AND EXTENDED 100 MM HEX DRIVE.
Re-Conditioned Engines are sold with a 1 year or 20,000 miles RETURN TO BASE WARRANTY and in the event of any fault developed which is deemed to be engine failure the vehicle will need to be delivered to our workshop at the customers convenience where the fault will be rectified at our expense .PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT OFFER A RECOVERY SERVICE OR A COuRTESY VEHICLE OR PAYMENT TOWARDS ONE. SLEEVE THE BORES WITH STEEL LINERS,REFACE THE BLOCK ,NEW CYLINDER HEAD FITTED
NEW MAIN BEARINGS,THRUST WASHERS,BIG END BEARINGS,OIL PUMP,PISTON RINGS,CRANK SEAL AND REAR MAIN SEAL,HEAD BOLTS,ELRING HEAD GASKET,CAMSHAFT,CAM BEARINGS AND TAPPETS.
MEASURE AND REPLACE RODS AND PISTONS IF NECCESARY,MEASURE CRANK AND RE-GRIND WHEN NECESSARY,MEASURE VALVES AND REPLACE WHEN NECESSARY.
CHEMICALLY CLEAN AND REMOVE ALL CARBON DEPOSITS.
NEW WATER PUMP AND GEAR FITTED.INSPECT AND REPLACE ANY GEARS THAT ARE WORN.
ALL ENGINES FULLY TIMED AND READY FOR FITMENT.
THE OLD UNIT IS REQUIRED FULLY STRIPPED OF ALL ITS ANCILLARIES AND WILL BE COLLECTED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE DELIVERY OF THE RE-MAN ENGINE OTHERWISE SURCHARGES WILL APPLY UNTIL THE OLD UNIT IS COLLECTED.
£800 SURCHARGE IS PAYABLE IF THERE ARE ANY HOLES OR DAMAGE TO THE BLOCK OF THE OLD UNIT.
WARRANTY PAPERS TO SIGN AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARE GIVEN BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE ORDER.
STEPS TO CONSIDER BEFORE COMMENCEMENT OF THE ENGINE INSTALLATION;
1.It is important before fitting the replacement unit,that the cause of the original engine failure is identified and where appropriate remedial action taken.Failure to do so may result in similar problems with the replacement engine,which will not be covered by the engine warranty.
2.It is highly recommended that the injectors are tested,cleaned and re-sealed by a specialist and that all electrical connections are in good order.In the event of engine failure due to injectors a test report will need to be given for each injector.
3.The engine is supplied without engine oil.Before turning the engine,it should be filled with oil that meets the manufacturers specifications and filled to the correct level.
4.We recommend that before fitting the replacement engine that you have a test on your radiator and pipework as the complete water system needs to be functioning efficiently.
5.New fuel and air filters must be replaced at the time of installation.
6.Any fault codes should be cleared as soon as possible and any re-occuring codes should be investigated and the cause rectified.Specialist assistance may be required.
7.The exhaust manifold should be checked for any cracks and distortion.Bolt and stud threads should be treated with a sealing compound to prevent oil/coolant leakage.If the original engine suffered oil starvation ,this may also have damaged the turbocharger,as may any debris that has passed from the engine into the exhaust.Fuel,oil or coolant contamination may damage the catalytic convertor/diesel particulate filter and may also cause smoking on engine start up.
STEPS TO DO WHEN THE NEW RE-MAN ENGINE IS FITTED
1.ALWAYS check that the oil and coolant levels are correct before starting the engine
2.It is advisable to disable the fuel or ignition systems and turn the engine via the starter motor until the oil pressure indicator light goes out.
3.After running the engine ,check the oil temperature gauges.If there is low oil pressure or the engine temperature is too high ,stop the engine immediately and check for possible causes.
4.The engine must not be left idling for prolonged periods.Such early life operation will create cylinder bore glazing and consequently excessive oil consumption.
5.After 500 miles the oil and filter will need replacing and the tappets (where manually adjustable)reset.
